Quick and Easy Beaded Coaster

QUICK AND EASY BEADED COASTER

Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick
K hook
8 beads (wooden ones used in the example)

ch 4. sl st to form a ring
Round 1: ch 1. 7 sc. sl st to beg chain. (8)
Round 2: ch 1. sc in same st as beg chain. 2 sc in each st around. sl st to beg chain. (16)
Round 3: ch 1. sc in same st as beg chain. *sc in next st. 2 sc in next st* repeat from * around. sl st to beg chain. (24)
Round 4: ch 1. sc in same st as beg chain. *sc in next 2 st. 2 sc in next st* repeat from * around. bind off, leaving 2 loops open on last sc so you can rejoin for edging (alternatively you can prestring the beads and push them down till you are ready to use them - in that case sl st to beg chain) (32)

Edging
String beads onto yarn and rejoin where you left off. sl st to top of beg chain.
ch 1. pull 1 bead up to hook and make a regular sc over it. it should lay nicely on the outside.

Alternative - I personally liked the way it looked the opposite way, which was a little trickier. I rejoined the yarn, but when i went to start the ch 1 of the edging row, I turned it to work on the opposite side.
